A Picture of His Grace My Anorexia Recovery Story edition by Laurie Glass Religion Spirituality eBooks

I began to restrict my food intake in an attempt to control something in my life when everything around me felt out of control. It wasn't long until I had to admit I had anorexia. Hopeless, afraid, and angry with God, I lived in bondage to this eating disorder for six years. I spent much of that time giving up and giving in to the eating disorder. But through this experience, I learned to change my thoughts and express my emotions, which were two keys in my recovery. On top of that, I experienced God's love and grace in a new way. Read about how he pursued me and helped me recover in spite of how I treated him.
A Picture of His Grace My Anorexia Recovery Story edition by Laurie Glass Religion Spirituality eBooks
I have a history of being in field of healthcare and a special interest of eating disorders, so especially interested in purchasing this ebook to understand more about the personal journey of someone who has an eating disorder; who has no support system around them.Laurie talks about how she hid her anorexia for years from family and friends and the tactics and lengths she went too when the eating disorder voice was in control.
Laurie describes how she turns to religion in hope and in time God saves her with much hard work and some medical intervention which guided her but didn't support as it wasn't realised the extent of her case.
This book is an emotional read showing a woman's struggle through such a hard experience alone when she should of been surrounded by support; showing the emotional toll not just the physical toll.
It's not the typical type of stories you read about eating disorders where at life threatening stage, or a young teenage girl; so this is refreshing change which has needed to be published for some time. So well done Laurie for having the courage to do so. Also it shows it isn't the typical book as Laurie had turned to God before her anorexia got to life threatening stage, and gained the strength and determination mentally to fight the battle against the eating disorder and to recover.
This ebook will hopefully be some encouragement to you and hopefully it will touch others like it has touched myself.
I would definately recommend reading this ebook whichever viewpoint you take, if you are someone with an eating disorder or if you a healthcare worker wanting to experience the true life of someone with an eating disorder.

A Picture of His Grace My Anorexia Recovery Story edition by Laurie Glass Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews
Laurie Glass presents an honest telling of her relationship with God and the unhealthy thoughts and behaviors that brought on her anorexia and fuelled it for six years. She recalls a hard-fought battle with anorexia that only became winnable when she let God lead her recovery. I felt hope for all who struggle with extreme food thoughts and behaviors when she describes how trusting God’s grace and giving control over to him made all the difference in her recovery. The book also contains lots of helpful information on faith-based resources for recovering from any type of extreme eating.
